"Thanks to this very intelligent man and his health coach, I have my life back after ten years of being told I have arthritis. I won’t go into detail, but I was at the point of almost retiring early due to the horrible symptoms and fatigue. They focused on healing my gut first and waking up my adrenals and immune system. After just a few short months, I’m feeling so much better and it’s amazing because I had forgotten how much energy I used to have! I highly recommend Wave where they will spend time with you, listen to you, and work tirelessly to make you better." |
"My name is Kim and I'm a teacher... I had spent a late Spring and Summer feeling really run down, but didn't think twice about it. When I started back to school I noticed that when I would try to write on the board I would have pains in my arms and my hands .... So I went to the doctor and without getting the results back, she actually prescribed Doxy for 3 weeks. I felt a lot better; then I went off Doxy and started having parasthesias [neuropathy], muscle spasms in my neck, I had tics in my eyelids, I was disoriented, I was dizzy. I had a new doctor who had had Lyme Disease herself. She gave me a couple of names of specialists. She said my tests did come back negative but she said she did not think it was "just" Lyme Disease.
She sent me to a Lyme doctor and I went to her for a few months... The antibiotics did help quite a few of my symptoms... but my general health totally fell apart. Um, I couldn't eat without vomiting, I was losing tons of weight, I couldn't sleep, I was chronically exhausted... I went back to the doctor that had referred me and said "I need to stop taking these [antibiotics], I'm not going back there".
I had tested positive for a Lupus-like disease affecting my connective tissue so I saw this Rheumatologist and he said "I will put you on [an antibiotic]; you know we don't really know why but for some reason it seems to make people feel better." I told my primary care doctor and she said, I know a different guy. He is wonderful, he will listen to you, he will help you get your health back. Because if you are not healthy you cannot fight [infections].
So I um made an appointment, and when I showed up I was a mess. I couldn't stand up on foot, I wasn't making a lot of sense. My husband was really worried about me, and they spent 3 hours with me. Three hours. Going through all of my symptoms, where I was with my health, with my sleep, gave me a lot of supplements -which I found really overwhelming initially but I was lucky enough to have someone with me... Within 2 or 3 weeks, my pain was at ~50% of what it was, I was starting to gain some weight, I was keeping down food... When I came back... I said 'wow, I was skeptical, I didn't think those things would make a difference for an infection'.
It's been a process. But I come here, I feel supported, I feel heard... and I'm better. Oh I still get symptoms, but my general health is better than its been in, oh, I'd say a decade." -Kim C, Hudson Valley
"You know, regarding people who are going to the "experts" - I saw a very well regarded rheumatologist ... and a top-rated cardiologist; they have their ideas about what you have and they're the experts - "experts" - but I don't think in that structure they are interested in empowering you in your own health. But in my case, and I think a lot of people that end up in integrative treatment, prescription medicine is one piece of the puzzle. Antibiotics do a number on you - they make you feel worse. You have to learn how to take care of your systems, and I did not know how to before I came to Wave. I've had a very well-regarded cardiologist tell me "Yeah, you've got a lot of anxiety; that's what it is," [but these symptoms went away at Wave]. If you're sick - really sick- give integrative medicine a shot. What do you have to lose? That's where I was. I thought, 'might as well give it a shot', and it had totally changed my life." -Kim C, NY
